Manchester United striker Robin van Persie could be heading out of the club next summer, having yet to agree on a contract extension .

The Netherlands international joined the Red Devils from Arsenal in 2012, and has since then been the club\'s inspiration upfront alongside Wayne Rooney.

However, with manager Louis van Gaal keen on adding youth to the starting line-up, Van Persie is likely to struggle to feature in the first-team in the long-run.

Van Persie\'s current deal at United expires in the summer of 2016, and the club\'s negligence to offer an extension could well lead to his exit at the conclusion of the campaign.

The 31-year-old has scored 56 goals in 93 games for United so far.
