The European champions were deemed to be interested in signing the talented Spaniard in recent months.
However, The Express now reports that Los Blancos have decided to drop interest in the former Atleti man, with Stoke City's Asmir Begovic being considered for the number one role.
De Gea joined the Red Devils from Atletico Madrid in 2011.
