The talented centre-back has had his fair share of criticism earlier in the campaign, with United struggling against the minnows.

However, he has since then transformed into a solid defender, and this has propelled United into the Champions League positions.

According to Belfast Telegraph, the 26-year-old, who is a product of United's academy, will be surplus to requirements should the club manage to acquire the services of Mats Hummels from Dortmund in the summer.
