The Netherlands international has struggled to maintain his form at United this season, mainly due to a series of injuries.

According to Goal.com, manager Carlo Ancelotti could go into the market for a new striker, with Javier Hernandez unlikely to seal a permanent transfer to Bernabeu.

Van Persie is considered as a viable option to fill the void as the Red Devils value him at just £12m.
