Southampton will look to sign up Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny on a season-long loan to provide cover to injured Fraser Forster.
Forster is expected to miss the start of the season due a surgery undergone on his knee injury, and this leaves the club with veteran shot-stopper Kelvin Davies and Paulo Gazzaniga as the only viable options.
According to The Sun, Saints boss Ronald Koeman wants a top-class goalkeeper with rich Premier League experience and considers the Poland international as the perfect fit to occupy the number one role on a temporary basis.
Szczesny has fallen out-of-favour at Arsenal in recent months, with manager Arsene Wenger opting for David Ospina as his first choice in goal.
