Titov for Newcastle?

Titov for Newcastle?

27 December 2007 - 21:50

Spartak Moscow's long serving club captain Yegor Titov could be set for a switch to the Premiership to Newcastle. The Geordies are in the market for an attacking type player, and Titov is renowned in Russia for his ability to play in the hole.

  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?
  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?

  • Titov has superb vision, accurate passing abilities and has been the captain of Spartak for several years. In fact, Titov is a one club man, having spent the whole of his career at Spartak.

The 31-year-old was linked with a move to the Premiership four years ago to Tottenham, but a move failed to materialise for the attacking midfielder who has over 40 caps for his country.

Titov has helped Spartak Moscow to six consecutive league titles and won Russian Player of the Year in 1998 and 2000.
