Tottenham Hotspur to hold Alderweireld talks

Tottenham Hotspur are confident of sealing a move for Atletico Madrid defender Toby Alderweireld, according to reports.

Alderweireld fell out-of-favour at Atleti last summer, and spent last season on loan in the Premier League with Southampton.

The Belgian was one of the stand out performers for the Saints, who finished seventh in the league with their highest points tally of 56.

According to Sky sources, Spurs' hierarchy will hold crunch talks with Alderweireld's representatives regarding the summer switch.

Southampton are also keen on resigning the versatile defender on a permanent basis.
