After watching his Young Gunners romp to a 4-1 victory over Everton with 10 men for the end of the game, Arsene Wenger praised his whole squad and their outstanding desire and hunger to win.

It is a fantastic win because we knew that by winning today we'd go back on top and we just came into this game on the back of the 0-0 at Portsmouth," the Frenchman told Setanta Sports.



"To come here and win 4-1 shows the outstanding desire and hunger in this team."



Wenger added: "Everton made a real battle of it, they won most of the duels and we needed to play more to get less nervous."
