Spain international Sergio Ramos will stay at Real Madrid beyond the summer transfer window, according to club manager Rafael Benitez.
The central defender had expressed his desire to join the Red Devils last month, following interest from Louis van Gaal.
However, new Real boss Rafael Benitez is adamant that Ramos, who was recently awarded the captain's armband, will be part of the club's setup for the upcoming campaign.
"Sergio Ramos is our player and he is a key player for us.I would like to see him at the beginning of the season playing for us. I think he will be crucial for us during the season." he told in a press conference.
"I am 100 percent. I insist it's clear for me and for the club that Sergio will be here. I have a lot of respect for [United manager] Louis van Gaal and football is a curious world, but Sergio Ramos will stay with us."
Ramos joined Los Blancos from Sevilla in 2005.
