Aston Villa have acquired the services of Cordoba defender Jose Angel Crespo for a reported fee of around £3m.
Cordoba had earlier confirmed that they had agreed a transfer fee with Villa for the 28-year-old.
The player has since then undergone a medical, and agreed personal terms over a three-year contract at the West Midlands outfit.
"Jose is a player who has been on our radar for some time and we're really pleased to secure his signature," Villa boss Tim Sherwood told the club's official website.
"He is an experienced player who has played in La Liga and Serie A, two of the strongest leagues in Europe, and from speaking to him I know he can't wait to play for Aston Villa."
