Arsenal have become favourites to sign up one of Italy's best upcoming prospects, talkSPORT reports.
Roma defender Alessio Romagnoli had been tipped to join Italian side AC Milan, after the San Siro outfit made a second bid of around £14.3m for his signature.
However, talkSPORT cites that talks between Roma and Milan have stalled, paving the way for the Gunners to sign up the talented central defender.
It is added that manager Arsene Wenger is a huge admirer of the 20-year-old, and sees him as a long-term replacement for Per Mertesacker.
