Chelsea will look to beat their league rivals to the services of Argentine defender Nicolas Otamendi, according to reports.
The Blues boss Jose Mourinho has shown keen interest on signing up a new central defender, with Kurt Zouma being the only reliable back-up to John Terry and Gary Cahill in the heart of the defence.
According to an unnamed Argentine source, the Blues could be tempted to fight off interest from the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City to acquire the services of Nicolas Otamendi from Valencia.
However, the Blues would have to pay a hefty fee in the region of &pound35m to land the player\'s signature from Los Che.
Otamendi recently returned to training with his Valencia teammates following his exertions at the Copa America.
