Besiktas make shock Ozil approach

Turkish giants Besiktas are understood to have made a shock enquiry over the availability of Arsenal star Mesut Ozil this summer, The Star reports.

The 26-year-old has had mixed seasons at the Gunners since his club-record move from Real Madrid in 2013.

However, the German international remains a vital part of Arsene Wenger's midfield setup for the ongoing campaign.

The Star now claims that Besiktas' transfer chief had met with Ozil's representative regarding a possible summer move.

Ozil has scored 12 goals in 74 games for Arsenal till date.
