Southampton boss rules out Wanyama, Mane sale

Koeman dismisses Wanyama, Mane exit talk

Southampton boss rules out Wanyama, Mane sale

30 August 2015 - 17:10

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has insisted that the club will not entertain offers for any of their top players.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Recent reports have cited that the Saints may be facing a tough 48 hours in the transfer window with midfield duo of Victor Wanyama and Sadio Mane linked with potential exits.

However, Koeman has dismissed claims by insisting that the club are in no mood to offload their star duo.

He added that Wanyama was left out during Southampton's 3-0 win over Norwich City as he was mentally not fit enough to feature in the game.

"[Sadio] Mane is the type of player who makes a difference, he's an important player for us and one we won't sell," he told BBC Sport.

"Victor Wanyama is a key player and for him the answer is the same as for Sadio. They will stay at Southampton, I'm 100 percent sure about that."
