Chelsea have announced the signing of goalkeeper Marco Amelia on a free transfer.
The 33-year-old was a free agent following his release from Perugia at the end of the previous campaign.
Amelia had been training with the Blues first-team in recent weeks, with manager Jose Mourinho keen on signing a replacement for Thibaut Courtois who is currently out with a long-term knee injury.
The Blues have now confirmed that the former Rossoneri shot-stopper will link up with the club until the end of the season.
Mourinho is most likely to test Amelia in the cup games, with summer signing Asmir Begovic having taken all the burden since the start of the season.
