Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck has revealed a possible return date having had his leg brace removed.

  • The England international has been on the sidelines since the start of the season as he underwent a knee injury.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger had early admitted that the player could play some part during the Christmas period.

However, the former Manchester United star feels that he could get back to first-team action in the early weeks of 2016.

“It’s difficult to put an exact date on it, around the New Year,” he told The National when asked about a possible comeback.

The Gunners have faired well in spite of Welbeck's absense with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud finding the back of the net at regular intervals.
