Midfielder Gaston Ramirez will seek to end his Southampton nightmare in the January transfer window, according to reports.

The Uruguay international joined the Saints from Bologna in 2012, and has since then failed to live up to his expectations.

Ramirez has yet to make a league appearance for Ronald Koeman's side in spite of impressing during his loan spell at Hull City last term.

TalkSPORT now understands that the 24-year-old will look to end his dismal spell in the New Year, and a return to the Serie A could well be on the cards.

The talented attacker has racked 50 appearances for the Saints till date.
