Newcastle United will reportedly launch an £8m bid for out-of-favour Tottenham Hotspur winger Andros Townsend.
The 25-year-old has struggled to cement his place in the starting line-up this season, and is expected to seek a fresh challenge in the New Year.
Recent reports had claimed that Townsend could seek a temporary move away from White Hart Lane in a bid to secure a spot in the England national side for Euro 2016.
However, The Mail cites that the Magpies could make a formal offer of around £8m for the talented attacker.
It is added that Steve McClaren's side are set to move their recruitment team from France in a bid to bring in local talents to the club.
Townsend has earned 10 caps with England.
