Watford head coach Quique Flores has revealed that the club were never in the running to sign Roma forward Juan Iturbe.
It has been recently speculated that the Hornets failed to meet Roma's asking price for the 22-year-old, who is now said to be close to joining Bournemouth.
However, Flores has dismissed the gossip by insisting that the Argentine was not in his plans for the winter transfer window.
"We decided the names of the players we want and he is not in our plans," he told reporters.
"We have other names and if we can get them to Watford in January it would be perfect. If not we will continue with the same players."
Bournemouth are expected to sign the former Porto man on an initial loan deal.
