Manchester City are set to rival Chelsea in the pursuit of Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy.

The Blues have been recently speculated to be weighing up a winter bid for the England international.

However, The Sun cites that the Citizens have joined the player's chase, and are likely to lodge an offer of their own for the striker next month.

It is added that City boss Manuel Pellegrini is not satisfied with Wilfried Bony's showing, and wants Vardy to fill in as an additional back-up option for Argentine star Sergio Aguero.

Vardy is currently rated at around £30m.
