Pogba wants to join Guardiola at Man City

Paul Pogba is interested in linking up with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City next season, according to Squawka.com.

  • Squawka are reporting today that Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba believes that Pep Guardiola can help him achieve his ambition of becoming the best footballer in the world, and is open to joining him at Man City next season.

Pogba has been linked with a move away from the Italian champions for some time now, and it is believed that the French midfielder will be allowed to join another club if Juve's £80m valuation is met.

FC Barcelona were thought to be leading the race for the French star's signature, however, their current financial state may have dictated that they are unable to afford Pogba. Barça have been unable to secure a shirt sponsor for next season, and they are believed to have let Juventus know that they are no longer in the running for the former Manchester United player, with a contract renewal for Neymar taking precedent.

City would have no such trouble in stumping up the requisite cash to sign Pogba, who is seen as the perfect fit to replace 32-year-old Yaya Toure at the heart of their midfield.
