Barcelona want Daley Blind

Barcelona want Daley Blind

01 June 2016 - 07:35

Daley Blind has emerged as the latest target in Barcelona's search for a new centre-back as it seems he will not be wanted by new United boss Jose Mourinho.

  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town
  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal

  • The Nou Camp club have identified the need for a young, top-level central defender as one of their top priorities this summer and the Dutchman has risen up the list and with a reported £14million asking price he is affordable.

Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte was heavily linked with the Spanish giants last season, but he now seems destined for a move to the Premier League with Manchester City and Manchester United interested in him.

Barca have been frustrated in their attempts to sign what is thought to be their top target Marquinhos from PSG and with Paris Saint-Germain refusing to sell the Brazilian, Barca are now starting to look elsewhere.

Sporting director Robert Fernandez is now looking at more realistic targets and these include Polish Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak, who they see moving in to central defence similar to how Javier Mascherano did.

Barcelona are also looking for a left-back with Brazilian defender Adriano set for a move, with a Serie A club most likely and Blind could slot in there when needed.
