Kalidou Koulibaly open to Chelsea talks

Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly is keen to hold talks with Chelsea boss Antonio Konte after he stalled talks over a contract extension at Napoli. The 24-year-old has emerged as the Blues' target for the summer following his impressive campaign in Serie A last season.

Koulibaly still has three years left on his existing deal but he believes his form should earn him an improved contract at the least.

"Big clubs want to sign me and there is no sign of a renewal with Napoli," he was quoted as saying on L'Equipe.

"I have not talked to [Antonio Conte] but that may be soon. If nothing happens at Napoli, I will start to have contact with other clubs."

The player would be a welcome addition to any club given his ability to play at centre-back, right-back or holding midfield.
