Jive look to fend off Pogba interest with new contract offer

Juventus to offer Pogba new deal amid Man Utd and Real Madrid interest

24 June 2016 - 11:09

Amid rumours of record-breaking bids from Manchester United and Real Madrid, Italian champions Juventus are preparing to offer star man Paul Pogba a bumper new contract to pursuade the Frenchman to stay in Turin, according to The Guardian.

  • Chelsea have just signed Brazilian star for £60m
  • Arsenal won't pay more than €70m for Benjamin Sesko

  • Both Madrid and United have been rumoured to be considering bids of up to €120 million for the 23-year-old midfielder, in what is shaping up to be one of the transfer sagas of this summer.

But Juventus are determined to hold on to Pogba and have moved to offer the France international a new contract, which, according to The Guardian, will see his yearly wage rise from €5 million to €7 million.

It is also believed that the Old Lady's insistance that they will not sell for a cent under €120 million is designed to put off prospective interest, with the feeling that Madrid would be unwilling to meet Juve's demands.

Pogba joined Juventus on a free transfer in 2012 after failing to agree a new contract with Manchester United. The gifted midfielder has gone on to make 124 Serie A appearances for the Bianconeri, scoring 28 goals.

It is believed that new United boss José Mourinho has made Pogba his number one transfer target, and the Portuguese tactician has convinced club officials to swallow their pride and make a big money offer for the player they allowed to leave for free four years ago.
