Yaya Toure is waiting to see whether Inter Milan will make a move to sign him, as he considers a transfer away from Manchester City this summer, according to reports in the Italian press.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that Toure favours a move to a new club this summer, and is keen on linking up with former City boss Roberto Mancini at Inter Milan.

Inter are thought to hold a long-standing interest in the Ivory Coast midfielder but, as yet, no concrete offer has been made.

The Nerazzurri have recently undergone a takeover, and Mancini has held a meeting to discuss his preferred transfer targets with the new owners.

Whether Toure's name will be on Mancini's wish-list remains to be seen, but Inter are likely to have a substantial kitty for incomings following the new investment in the club.

Toure joined City from FC Barcelona in 2010 for £24 million. The 33-year-old has been a key figure in the Citizens' two Premier League triumphs in the 2011-12 and 2013-14 seasons.

New City boss Pep Guardiola is believed to be keen on retaining the experienced former Monaco midfielder, but it is likely that Toure will have to accept a reduced role if he is to remain at the Etihad, as Guardiola begins to mould his new squad in his image. Ilkay Gundogan has already been brought in from Borussia Dortmund, and further midfield additions are expected.
