Full back Djibril Sidibe could be the first signing of Southampton manager Claude Puel's reign after a fee had been agreed yesterday between the Saints and French club Lille. Sidibe is one of the Ligue 1's most highly rated young defenders.
23 year old Sidibe is desperate to make the step up to France's full national team having repreented the under-21's back in 2013. A 4 year spell with Lille has seen the Troyes-born defender play over 100 games for Lille.
Southampton have enormous budget to spend on new players having since sold Saido Mane to Liverpool just last week. The arrival of Nathan Redmond is expected to be a replacement for Mane, whilst defender Cedric is expected to leave St Mary's this summer.
