Chelsea back in for Mustafi

Chelsea switch focus to Shkodran Mustafi

17 July 2016 - 07:55

Chelsea have turned their attention towards Valencia's Shkodran Mustafi after they failed in their attempts to sign Leonardo Bonucci. The 24-year-old recently featured for Germany at the European championships in France.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • Blues boss Antonio Conte was initially looking for a reunion with Bonucci with whom he worked at former club Juventus.

However, with the Old Lady reluctant to accept any price for the centre-back, the Blues have opted to switch their interests elsewhere.

According to The Mirror, the West London giants could revive their interest in former target Mustafi with Conte desperate to bolster his backline ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.

Mustafi had a mixed season with Los Che last term as they finished a lowly 12th with 44 points.

The German is currently valued in the £35m range.
