David Moyes wants Fellaini at Sunderland

New Sunderland boss David Moyes is hopeful of signing Marouane Fellaini from Manchester United this summer. The Belgian's future is hanging in the balance following Jose Mourinho's arrival at Old Trafford.

  • Moyes was in-charge of Everton when Fellaini first made his Premier League bow. He followed his gaffer to United in 2013 when the 53-year-old was appointed as Sir Alex Ferguson's successor.

Since then, the two have had mixed fortunes, with Moyes being sacked 10 months into his job whilst Fellaini remains a fringe player for the Mancunian outfit.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the Scottish coach wants a reunion with the Belgian midfielder, and a £13m bid could be lodged in the transfer window.

Fellaini is expected to return for pre-season training this week after he received an extended break for his exploits at Euro 2016.
