Manchester United attacker Adnan Januzaj has completed his much-awaited loan move to Sunderland. The 21-year-old was initially open to a permanent transfer before manager Jose Mourinho intervened in the deal.

  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • The Belgian international made his breakthrough in the 2013/14 campaign when David Moyes was in-charge at Old Trafford.

He followed to have a lean spell under Louis van Gaal and the arrival of Jose Mourinho this summer made no difference to his situation.

The Black Cats have now confirmed the temporary signing of Januzaj, and he could be in line to feature against Manchester City in the Premier League opener.

Mourinho had earlier turned down Januzaj's request for a permanent switch as he believes the youngster has a future at the club.

The Belgian is the Black Cats' fourth recruit of the transfer window following the likes of Donald Love, Paddy McNair and Papy Djilobodji.
