West Bromwich Albion have earmarked Southampton's Jay Rodriguez as the ideal player to bolster their forward ranks. The England international has barely featured for the Saints over the past year.
Baggies boss Tony Pulis is looking to add depth to his depleted squad, and this has brought Rodriguez onto his radar.
According to The Telegraph, the West Midlands side are open to offering an escape route to the 27-year-old, who is on the search for regular playing time.
Despite the departure of Graziano Pelle this summer, Rodriguez finds himself on the fringes of the first-team with Shane Long and Charlie Austin favoured for the lone role upfront.
The former Burnley man has made just three league starts for Southampton since he sustained a serious knee injury in April 2014.
Tony Pulis' side will look to loan the player for the 2016/17 season with a view to a permanent deal next summer.
