Chelsea should go for Bonucci - Ballack

Ballack backs Chelsea to sign Leonardo Bonucci

Former Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack feels Leonardo Bonucci would be an added boost to the Blues' backline, should he make the move to Stamford Bridge.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • The Italy international has been strongly linked with the West London giants this month with manager Antonio Conte willing splash out a &pound60m sum for his services in January.

While speaking to TalkSPORT, Ballack insisted that the Blues would be benefited with the arrival of Bonucci, given his rich experience in the Serie A, whilst also working with Conte between 2011 and 2014.

"If it is possible to sign such a great player with good experience, it would be brilliant for Chelsea." he said.

The Blues have had an average start to the new league campaign with summer recruit David Luiz finding it hard to adapt to English football in his second coming.

Chelsea are currently seventh in the Premier League with 13 points from their opening seven games.
