PSG want Liverpool's Coutinho

French champions Paris Saint Germain could be set to make a mega money move for Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho, according to reports in France.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • French sports magazine Le10 Sport is reporting that Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain are seriously interested in signing Liverpool’s Brazilian star Philippe Coutinho, and could be willing to spend up to €60 million to sign the former Inter Milan midfielder.

Le10 Sport believes that PSG made a €25 million offer for Coutinho during the summer, but Anfield boss Jurgen Klopp rejected the bid as the 24-year-old is a key member of his team.

But the Parisians have not been deterred and remain extremely keen on trying to sign Coutinho.

The French side signed former Newcastle United and Hull City attacking midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa on a free transfer from Nice this summer, but the 29-year-old has struggled to make an impact at the Parc des Princes, with manager Unai Emery criticising his work rate.

With Ben Arfa’s future uncertain, a move for Coutinho, who plays the same position, would make a lot of sense.

However, PSG do not have any space in their squad for another non-EU player under the stipulations of French football, meaning they would need to sell before they are able to buy.

It is though that Brazilian winger Lucas Moura would be most likely to be shipped out to make space for Coutinho.
