Napoli open to Gabbiadini sale

Napoli prepared to sell Everton target

25 October 2016 - 13:49

Italian giants Napoli are mulling over the sale of striker Manolo Gabbiadini. The 24-year-old has been sparingly used in the first-team this season.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • Gabbiadini had attracted interest from Everton and Leicester City in the summer, but he opted to stick with his current employers.

Nothing has gone well for the Italian since then with coach Maurizio Sarri deciding to play Dries Mertens upfront in the absence of Arek Milik.

Summer recruit Milik is out for a lengthy period with a knee problem, but this is unlikely to deter Napoli's intention to sell Gabbiadini in the New Year.

Toffees boss Ronald Koeman is on the search for a capable companion for Romelu Lukaku upfront and will look to lodge an attempt to sign the Italy international.

Gabbiadini's season went from bad to worse over the weekend after he received a straight red for a horrific tackle in the 2-1 win over Crotone.
