Man Utd eyeing Ozil deal?

11 November 2016 - 15:13

Manchester United are being linked with a surprise move for Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil. The German international has stalled on talks over a a fresh contract at the Emirates.

  • Chelsea to complete deal for Pep Chavarria
  • Malo Gusto to complete move from Chelsea to Man City this week
  • Ozil is currently holding out for wages of around £250,000-a-week, and this is way off what the Gunners are willing to offer for an extension. (160,000-a-week)

According to The Sun, agent Erkut Sogut is planning discussions with Jose Mourinho's camp amid the Gunners' reluctance to match his client's wage demands.

The Special One held a good relationship with the World Cup winner during their time at Real Madrid, and the two continue to be in contact even at this period.

Manchester United had previously lured Robin van Persie from North London on a bumper contract in the summer of 2012, and they are hopeful of getting a similar deal done on Ozil.

Ozil, for now, is content with his place under Arsene Wenger, and it could come to the final year of his contract before he finds a solution.

The 28-year-old is contracted to Arsenal until the summer of 2018.
