Barcelona explore Srna deal

Spanish champions Barcelona will look to seal a cut-price deal for Darijo Srna in the winter transfer window. The Croatia international is prepared to end his long-term association with Shakhtar Donetsk.

  • The Catalan giants are expected to move for a new right-sided defender in January with Aleix Vidal eyeing a possible exit, whilst Sergi Roberto has failed to impress over the past month.

The likes of Glen Johnson, Joao Cancelo, and Cedric Soares have all been linked with Luis Enrique's side this month, but according to TV3, it is Srna, who remains the preferred option for Barca.

Srna could be available for a fee of around £2m, and this is a sort of deal Enrique would prefer as he bids to spend big on a new right-back next summer.

The 34-year-old is a fan favourite at Shakhtar Donetsk having lifted eight league titles in his 13-year stay at the club.
