Borussia Monchengladbach are lining up a permanent deal for on-loan Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen. The Dane is in the second season of his two-year loan spell at the Bundesliga outfit.
According to Calciomercato, the German side are prepared to sign the centre-half on a permanent basis in January as he is an integral part of their first-team plans.
The 20-year-old has been earmarked as a long-term replacement for Chelsea skipper John Terry, but Monchengladbach are hoping to negotiate a transfer sum for his services.
Christensen is currently valued at around £20m, and his progress has also captured the attention of Spanish giants Barcelona.
The central defender has appeared in exactly 50 games for Borussia Monchengladbach, netting three goals in the process. He also made his mark at international level having earned eight caps for Denmark to date.
