Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has iterated that midfielder Cesc Fabregas will not be sold during the upcoming transfer window. The Spain international has barely featured for the Blues this season.

  • Fabregas, 29, has made just two league starts for the Blues this season with manager Antonio Conte opting to stick with N'Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic as his preferred combination at the heart of the midfield.

Conte had previously suggested that Fabregas remains an important player to his squad, and when questioned on the Spaniard on Thursday, he once again insisted the player would not be put up for sale in the New Year.

"About Cesc, I have already replied in the previous press conference and Cesc is a good player and is an important player to stay in my squad. I want him to stay here," he told reporters.

Fabregas made a surprise start for Chelsea last weekend as they trumped Manchester City by a 3-1 scoreline at the Etihad. He is, however, likely to benched against West Bromwich Albion with Nemanja Matic having recovered from a muscular problem.
