Liverpool not interested in Jose Fonte deal

Premier League giants Liverpool are not keen on signing Southampton defender Jose Fonte this month. The Portugal international has recently handed in a transfer request at St.Mary's.

Recent speculation suggested that the Reds could make another raid on the South Coast outfit with Jurgen Klopp interested in securing a winter deal for Fonte.

However, according to Sky Sports, the German coach has no thoughts of bringing the experienced centre-half to Anfield, and he will look elsewhere for potential recruits.

Fonte, who has featured over 200 times for Southampton, is also on the radar of Everton and Manchester United with the former holding a keen interest in his signature.

Everton boss Ronald Koeman has been recently reunited with former Saints ace Morgan Schneiderlin, and Fonte could well be the next heading to Goodison Park.
