Lyon have reportedly failed with a renewed approach for Manchester United outcast Memphis Depay. The French giants had come up with a fresh £13m offer for the player but with no avail.

  • The Netherlands international has emerged as the prime target for Les Phoceens, who are hoping to challenge for a Champions League position this season.

According to The Mail, the Ligue 1 side have been rebuffed in their latest attempt for the attacker with United reluctant to take less than £17m plus add-ons for the Dutchman.

Lyon are expected to lodge a third bid for the winger in the coming days with the player deemed to have already settled personal terms with Bruno Génésio's side.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has previously insisted that he would welcome the chance to work with Memphis, should he fail to earn a move away from Old Trafford this month.
