Manchester City Set to Sign New Goalkeeper

Manchester City Set to Sign New Goalkeeper

17 January 2017 - 08:29

Pep Guardiola is all set to sign a new goalkeeper for Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • Though Claudio Bravo was signed from Barcelona, to be Manchester City’s no.1 this season; and started most of City’s Premier League games this season, he has also come in for some severe criticism following some questionable performances.

Further, although Bravo suits Guardiola’s style of playing out from the back, his ball handling in pressure situations has left a lot to be desired.

Therefore, signing a new goalkeeper is the need of the hour for both Guardiola and City. However, the arrival of a new keeper would mean that Willy Caballero, who has been playing second fiddle to Bravo, would be allowed to leave the club, when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Along with signing a new goalkeeper, Guardiola also has the option of bring back Joe Hart to the club, who is currently on loan at Torino in Italy.
