Manchester United are reported to be weighing up a straight exchange deal for Tottenham Hotspur full-back Danny Rose.
The England international has progressed well during his time at White Hart Lane and is now undoubtedly the best left-back in the country.
Luke Shaw has been restricted to regular first-team action since his return from injury in November, and according to Yahoo! Sport, the Red Devils could offer the 21-year-old to Spurs in a potential swap for Rose.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino had seen Shaw develop into a top talent at former club Southampton, but a deal involving an exchange looks unlikely to happen unless United add up an additional sum for the transfer.
Rose, who is currently nursing a knee injury, is on the radar of both Manchester United and Manchester City, and this could influence Spurs to offload the asset for a substantial fee in the summer.
Shaw has been rather lucky with his lack of gametime under Jose Mourinho, and a move to north London could well revive his career which has reached a standstill since his move to United in 2014.
