Perez eyeing fresh challenge?

Lucas Perez considering Arsenal future

Spanish striker Lucas Perez is assessing his future at the Emirates after having failed to establish himself as a regular in the starting lineup.

  • The 28-year-old joined the Gunners from Deportivo La Coruna last summer ignoring interest from Merseyside club Everton.

He has since, however, struggled to earn a regular run in the starting lineup, and much of his action has come in the Cup games.

With six goals and five assists in just over 750 minutes of football, Perez would have got into any club, but it appears that Wenger is still reluctant to start him upfront.

The likes of Welbeck, Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud are all ahead of him in the pecking order, and according to The Mail, this could urge Perez to further his career elsewhere in the summer.

Perez was said to be the subject of interest from Southampton earlier in the campaign, and he would not mind joining a fellow league rival come the end of the season.
