Man City boss sets sights on Juventus full-back

05 March 2017 - 06:16

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has identified Juventus' Alex Sandro as the perfect fit to occupy the left-back position at the club next season.

  • Chelsea star wins PFA Young Player of the Year award
  • Chelsea midfielder won't join Premier League rivals

  • The Citizens are planning to reinforce the full-back positions in the summer with the likes of Pablo Zabaleta, Bacary Sagna, Gael Clichy and Aleksandar Kolarov all likely to leave at the expiry of their contracts.

Sandro, 26, has been used as a regular in the left-back position in recent months with Juventus boss Max Allegri having switched to four at the back.

Pep has highlighted his intention to reinforce his backline during the next transfer window, and he is prepared to pay up a fee in excess of £40m to lure the Brazil international to the Etihad.

Apart from Sandro, Southampton's Ryan Bertrand is the other on the Citizens' radar, but the South Coast outfit could be reluctant to sell unless they receive a stunning package for the EFL Cup finalist.
