Mahrez wants Barcelona move

23 March 2017 - 18:29

Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez is setting his sights on a move to La Liga giants Barcelona in the summer. Mahrez has apparently made it his "objective" to move to the Nou Camp, in a deal that could be worth £35 million.

  • Man Utd without four players for Bournemouth clash
  • Liam Rosenior on Enzo Fernandez's Chelsea future
  • Mahrez was a key member of Leicester City's unlikely Premier League success last season, and was linked with a move to Barcelona in the summer. The Foxes managed to keep hold of the Algerian international, who is one of a number of players that has struggled to live up to last season's high standards this time around. Since the departure of manager Claudio Ranieri however, Mahrez has put in some strong performances for the Midlands club, and now Spanish newspaper Sport is reporting that he has held talks with Barcelona over a £35 million summer move.

Despite still not knowing who will be the manager of the Catalan giants next season, Mahrez is one of a number of players who Barcelona bosses are lining up in an attempt to see the club dominate Spanish football again. The club have also been linked with Isco, Marco Verratti and Gerard Deulofeu, along with Antoine Griezmann and Paulo Dybala.
