Arsenal are reportedly lining up a £13m for Euro 2016 hero Rui Patricio. The Portugal international is currently in the ranks of Primeira Liga club Sporting.
Patricio had played a key part in Portugal's European triumph last summer as he kept out the opposition on multiple occasions to push his side to the summit.
The 29-year-old has spent his entire career with the Lisbon outfit, but he is now prepared to move on to experience an opportunity in a bigger league.
A report from The Sun claims the Gunners will make a move for the Portuguese shot-stopper this summer with the hierarchy not entirely convinced with the abilities of Petr Cech.
Cech has failed to live up to his expectations this campaign and his displays against Watford and Chelsea earlier in the year have not gone well with the fans.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is also said to have doubts over David Ospina taking over the number one role, and this will urge him to move for a new goalkeeper during the off-season.
This is also a suggestion that Wojciech Szczesny could retain the role between the sticks next season once he returns from his lengthy loan spell at AS Roma in the summer.
