Alvaro Morata keen on Chelsea transfer

28 March 2017 - 05:08

Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata has reportedly identified Chelsea as his preferred destination ahead of the summer transfer window.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • The Spain international linked up with the Bernabeu giants from Juventus last summer after they activated the buy-back clause in his contract.

However, he has since failed to work his way into Zinedine Zidane's setup with just 14 starts across all competitions to date.

Spanish publication AS claims that the 24-year-old will seek to end his ties with Los Blancos this summer after failed to make himself a regular in the starting lineup.

Chelsea had expressed an interest in his services at the start of the campaign, and Morata would favour a switch to Stamford Bridge with the futures of Eden Hazard and Diego Costa hanging in the balance.

It is also suggested that Morata could be offered in a part-exchange deal for Hazard, who remains a top priority for Los Blancos in the coming transfer window.

Despite his restricted playing time, Morata has managed to net an impressive tally of 13 goals for the European champions this term.
