Manchester United are being associated with a surprise deal for Everton winger Gerard Deulofeu. The attacker is currently on a short-term loan at AC Milan where he has stood out with his performances.
Deulofeu, 23, largely struggled to make himself a regular under Ronald Koeman this season and was restricted to just four league starts in the first half of the campaign.
Following the turn of the year, the former La Masia student agreed to link up with the Rossoneri on a temporary deal, which has brought the best of his abilities.
Deulofeu has provided two goals and three assists in 13 outings for his loan club, but it is his work rate on the pitch which has attracted transfer interest.
Spanish source Don Balon cites that the Red Devils have turned their focus towards Deulofeu, who recently scored a goal on his recall to the Spain squad.
Former club Barcelona have a £10.3 buy-back option on the player's contract, and United may have to discuss terms with the Catalan giants if the Spanish club are to re-sign their graduate.
Barcelona technical director Robert Fernandez recently suggested that Deulofeu could play a significant role at the Camp Nou next season.
