Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is considering the prospect of signing Bournemouth defender Adam Smith when the transfer window reopens in the summer.
England right-back Kyle Walker has been at odds with Pochettino in recent weeks, and he is no longer guaranteed a starting role with Kieran Trippier getting the nod in recent times.
According to The Mirror, Spurs could be preparing themselves for life without Walker with Smith being identified as a potential replacement for his compatriot.
Smith, now 26, had come through the youth ranks at the north London club before making the switch to the South Coast in the winter of 2014.
He has provided a goal and five assists during the ongoing league campaign, and Pochettino appears to favour his services next season with Walker likely to part ways with the club.
Walker is currently a transfer target for league rivals Manchester City, whose manager Pep Guardiola is keen to reinforce the full-back positions in the summer.
