Sissoko has emerged as a surprise target for Europe's elite clubs despite his poor showing for Tottenham this season.
The 27-year-old French midfielder became hot property in Europe after his string of excellent performances for France at the European Championship in 2016, despite losing to Portugal in the final.
This led to Tottenham's purchase of Sissoko for a club-record £30 million from Newcastle last summer. However, he has had a torrid season for Spurs, starting just 11 games in all competitions, assisting a mere three goals and incredibly scoring none.
The poor showing from the midfielder does not seem to have taken much of a hit on his reputation though, as Spanish media outlet Don Balon is reporting that Barcelona want to bring Sissoko to the Camp Nou in the summer, along with Real Madrid and AC Milan.Â
Barcelona's interest will be frustrating for Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane as he had tried to bring him to Los Blancos from Newcastle in the summer, but a move never materialized. Now, Daniel Levy wants to offer him to Barcelona as he thinks they will cash in on Sissoko due to their persistent midfield issues. Â
AC Milan will also rival Barcelona and Real Madrid now that their finances are backed by wealthy investors from China. A move back to Newcastle has also been brought up.Â
