Chelsea meet up with striker's agent ahead of £70m move

Chelsea have reportedly revived their interest in former player and Everton striker Romelu Lukaku ahead of the summer transfer window.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The Belgium international has had a top campaign in the Toffees shirt this term after having racked a tally of 24 goals in the Premier League - making him the leading candidate for the Golden Boot award.

According to The Sun, the Blues have made significant strides towards the talented marksman after they met up with his entourage to discuss a potential transfer.

Blues boss Antonio Conte has urged the club's hierarchy to recruit a top-class marksman in the coming transfer window and it appears that Lukaku is leading the list with technical director Michael Emenalo playing a part in the approach.

Lukaku had sore memories when he left Stamford Bridge for Merseyside on a permanent basis in 2014, but he could nevertheless prepare a comeback with Conte likely to guarantee him a starting spot.

Diego Costa has been touted for a mega-money switch to China in recent months, and it is suggested that the Spaniard will push for a Far East move in the summer.
